Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share my Astrid Hygge Cup Cozy Crochet Pattern with all of you!  This luxurious piece was a side project that I came up with back in November 2019.  At the time, Bebe was quite unwell and I wanted to stay by her as much as possible while she rested.  Amigurumi projects usually require tons of sewing and working with different yarns, so that was not an option for me.   This project was influenced by the Star Stitch Cup Cozy by Stephanie.   After creating her project (which, fail on my part by the way, because I didn’t realize none of my mugs fit the cup cozy!), I wanted to come up with something that fits my reusable cups.   I experimented for a while and eventually came up with this pattern!  This pretty cup cozy is worked in rounds and fits into the recyclable 16 fl oz cups from Starbucks.  I hope you will have fun making your very own Astrid Hygge Cup Cozy as well!  If you would like a super detailed, ad-free version, with more than 30+ full-colored step-by-step photos, you can purchase it here

Although Bebe is no longer in this world, I still feel her presence at times.  I miss her so much and I wish she I can go back to that November….

  • You know basic crochet stitches
  • You know what the “third loop” behind each hdc is
  • You’ve done the star stitch before (Star Stitch: insert hook into second ch from hook, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook into next st, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook in next, YO and pull through all 6 loops on your hook.  Ch 1)

*I won’t try to reinvent the wheel here as you can easily search up these instruction videos created by many talented and helpful crocheters in the community*
